The leader of the parliamentary bench of the opposition British Labor Party, Keir Starmer, criticized the policies of English Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday to contain Covid-19, after it was discovered that the ruler ignored scientific recommendations on how to deal with the coronavirus.
Starmer pointed out that the aforementioned government’s government “does not have a credible plan to curb infections, it has lost control of the virus and no longer follows scientific advice.”
The British Member of Parliament publicly accused Johnson. “You knew that the restrictions you introduced were not enough,” he said while demanding that the prime minister apply stronger restrictions to keep the virus under control.
The publication of the minutes of a meeting of the Group of Scientific Advisers for Emergencies (SAGE) of the British Government, released this week, showed that Johnson did not implement the coronavirus containment measures suggested by specialists in time.
For its part, the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS) announced on Tuesday that the European country accumulates 634,920 Covid-19 infections and 43,018 deaths from this disease.
The aforementioned report goes on to detail that in the United Kingdom, 17,234 new infections of coronavirus and another 143 deaths caused by the aforementioned disease were reported in the last 24 hours.
