13-year-old girl killed after a car hit two teenagers walking while the driver is accused

A 13-year-old girl died after a car hit two teenage pedestrians in North London.

The second girl was taken to the hospital after the collision in Barnet late Monday evening.

Met Police said the 15-year-old girl was shocked but not physically injured.

The girls were hit by the car around 9.15 pm and both were taken to the hospital.

The younger teenager died in the hospital a few hours later, police said. His closest relative was made aware of the tragedy, added the Met.

A 41-year-old driver who stopped on the spot was arrested.

She was accused of causing death by dangerous driving, police said.

The investigators of the traffic police and transport command are investigating.

Officers ask for testimony or anyone with information about the accident.

They are urging all motorists who have captured the collision or the moments that precede it on the dash cam video to contact them.
