A 14-year-old boy died after crushing an alleged stolen car while he was being sued by the police.
The Fiat 500 collided with two other cars while police were trying to stop him at Wigan around 1:30 pm on Friday.
The driver was taken to the hospital and his death was pronounced Saturday morning.
Two other boys found at the scene of the accident at Ashton Road in Golborne were also transported to the hospital.
One of them, 15, is in critical but stable condition, while a second 14 year old man has been slightly injured and has since been released.
The incident was referred to the Independent Bureau for Police Conduct.
"The Serious Crash Investigation Unit is continuing its investigations so that all the circumstances surrounding the collision can be established," said Sergeant Jon McColl of the Greater Manchester Police Department.
"Given the brief lawsuit that developed before the collision, we referred the case to the Independent Bureau for Police Conduct, which is in line with normal policy."
