Andy Samberg, Andy Siara, Noah Hawley, Ben Stiller will team up for a new untitled series (at the moment) that will be produced by Apple Studios.
The Hollywood Reporter reported exclusively on the new production planned by Apple, which will be on the Apple TV + content grid in the future.
Apple closed the deal over the weekend, recovering it in a competitive situation as it already happened with other productions.
The details of the project are kept in an alternate dimension, but it is known to be the brainchild of the creator and author of BoJack Horseman , Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Andy Samberg and his movie writer Palm Springs, Andy Siara, have partnered with Noah Hawley and Ben Stiller for the project.
Samberg is ready to star and produce. Hawley will produce through his 26-key banner with 26-key Dan Seligmann. Stiller and Nicky Weinstock will produce through Red Hour with Jackie Cohn serving as executive producer. Bob-Waksberg will also serve as producer.
The creative team will look to recruit a director in the coming months.
The project attracted instant interest because Palm Springs is generating this awards season. The film, based on an original script by Siara and starring and produced by Samberg, tells of a man caught in a time loop while attending a dreaded wedding. On Sunday, the film was recognized in the Critics Choice Super Awards inaugural awards for best science fiction / fantasy film, best actor in a science fiction / fantasy film (for Samberg) and best actress in a science fiction / fantasy film for Cristin Milioti.
