Former Renault F1 director Cyril Abiteboul, who left his post in the French formation now called Alpine at the beginning of the year, is back in the competition with Mecachrome.
Cyril Abiteboul has found a new occupation after leaving Renault / Alpine months ago and leaving his position to the trident of Laurent Rossi, Marcin Budkowski and Davide Brivio.
From now on, Abiteboul will act as advisor to Mecachrome, the world’s leading French company in precision mechanics for the automotive and aeronautical industries, as well as a long-term contracted supplier to Renault and Alpine, for which it produces the main engine components and helps assemble V6 hybrid power units.

Mecachrome has collaborated for more than 20 years with RenaultBut it has also leveraged its cutting edge technology and industry experience with a variety of automotive companies, including Ferrari, Stelia, Porsche, and Rolls Royce.
At the beginning of this year, Mecachrome and Alpine signed a new contract for the development and production of specific elements of the engine of Formula 1, as well as for the assembly services of the same in the World Championship.
Laurent Rossi, CEO of Alpine, noted at the time of the renewal of the agreement that “working with a partner like Mecachrome is an asset in our project to return to the highest level of Formula 1. Continuity is a strength in this ultra-competitive and constant sport change”.
