Accor signs for a brace at Newcastle Gateshead Quays

In Newcastle, Accor will equip the new business district of Gateshead Quays with more than 300 rooms, under the Ibis and Novotel brands

The banks of the River Tyne are in full emulation: soon Quayside, this area straddling Newcastle and Gateshead should establish itself as a leading hub business in the North of England, in particular thanks to a brand new conference center. And the Accor group will bring its stone to the edifice of the project « Newcastle Gateshead Quays », through the upcoming inauguration of a two-in-one hotel. Work should start this spring, to allow the building toopen in 2024.

Within this new 14-storey building, the part dedicated to the brand Novotel will understand 187 rooms. Business travelers will have access to modern meeting & event facilities, in addition to a gym and a restaurant. The hotel ibis will be endowed with 140 bedrooms, and will mark the arrival of the economy brand in this region of the United Kingdom, as noted by Philip Lassman, vice-president in charge of Development for Accor in Northern Europe: “ Our dual brand hotel is a fantastic prospect for Gateshead and Newcastle. This will be the first ibis hotel in the region and it will only be our second Novotel concept hotel in the UK “.
