Singer Adele has filed for divorce from her husband Simon Konecki according to legal documents filed in the US.
One representative said the two were "obliged to lovingly educate their son together."
Adele gave birth to her son Angelo in 2012. After five years in 2016, she married Konecki, an investment banker who became charity chief.
Born in North London, this bestselling artist is known for her top albums 19, 21 and 25.
The statement added that the couple, who announced their separation in April, asked for privacy and there would be no further comment.
The divorce papers were filed with a Los Angeles court.
They married in a secret ceremony in 2016, with Adele publicly addressing the wedding during a thank-you speech at the Grammys 2017, where she thanked her husband.

The singer's debut album released in 2008 with hits like Chasing Pavements and Hometown Glory reached # 1 in the UK.
She won a number of awards and her follow-up, 21, topped the charts in 30 countries, including the US and the UK.
Their third album, 25, became the best selling album of the year 2015 in the first week with 800,000 copies sold.
According to recent reports, Adele records new music and the 31-year-old enters a recording studio in New York City in March.
45-year-old Konecki quit his job at Lehman Brothers in 2005 and founded the ethical water company Life Water. The company and its nonprofit Drop 4 Drop fund "clean water projects around the world".
"I was originally an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, and I was fine and I made a lot of money, but I was sick of this greedy and corrupt world," he told Management Today in 2012.
