Alberto Fernández appointed the new ambassador to Turkey

This is Patricia Beatriz Salas, who was made official as a representative in Ankara through Decree 11/2021, published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette.

The diplomat worked as director of Economic Relations with Africa and the Middle East: she had previously been an ambassador to Poland and in charge of Business in Honduras, among other positions.

In addition to representing Argentina against Turkey, Salas will also be the diplomatic link with Georgia.

During her time in Warsaw, Salas had been in the middle of a controversy in January 2017 after an Argentine-Polish researcher denounced her for, supposedly, having censored a presentation at a university in the European country for “her possible demonstrations in favor of Argentine governments succeeded recently (in allusion to Kirchnerism) and to the detriment of the current administration (in reference to the administration of Mauricio Macri) “.
