“The Mandalorian” is the most anticipated television proposal of the recently arrived platform in Argentina Disney Plus. Created by Jon Favreau and starring Chilean Pedro Pascal, the fiction derived from the Star Wars saga re-elaborates history and proposes a different way of seeing the universe created by George Lucas, based on a huge technical bill, astonishing visual effects, a solid and ingenious script and new adventures and characters. The original series of the Disney streaming service can only be found in this place and for now the eight chapters corresponding to the first season and the first three of the second are available, while each Friday a new one will be enabled until reaching the eighth.

Within the Star Wars universe, it is set a few years after the events of “Return of the Jedi”, with the Empire already fallen and with Luke, Leia and Han Solo alive somewhere in the Galaxy. But this story follows a lone gunman beyond the reach of the Republic. The Mandalorians are the inhabitants of the planet Mandalore, the place where Mando, the protagonist, comes from. This race fought against the Jedi during the Old Republic. In fact, the Mandalorians are divided into two camps due to this confrontation: the Houses and the Clans, and repeatedly fought each other. This means that it ranks between the first three original films and the last trilogy, covering the space between Episodes VI and VII where the New Republic dominates the galaxy and as the First Order begins to organize.

The first season shows how a bounty hunter is on a mission to rescue a little boy of the same race as Yoda and then kill him. When he meets the little one, he does not comply and takes him away. So Baby Yoda and the Mandalorian, along with IG-11, Kuiil, and Cara Dune embark on different missions in order to protect the little boy trying to overcome the adventures that the galaxy has in store for them. The new stage has Mando and “the Boy” together traveling through the galaxy after the confrontation with Moff Gideon. With the fall of the Galactic Empire and its aftermath, the road is not easy for this charismatic duo who, as they make their way, have to face enemies, while adding new allies to their cause. Chapter by chapter the open questions of the first installment will be answered.

Chilean actor Pedro Pascal, a figure in successful productions such as “Game of Thrones” and “Wonder Woman” plays the main role. Jon Favreau, director of “The Jungle Book”, “The Lion King”, is the screenwriter, creator, and executive producer of the series along with Dave Filoni and Colin Wilson. Also behind the scenes there are talented filmmakers such as Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow directing the episodes. The cast is completed by names like Carl Weathers, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Emily Swallow, Werner Herzog, Giancarlo Esposito and Omid Abtahi, among others. It is to emphasize that you do not need to be a connoisseur or a fan of the film saga to understand or follow this fiction, although it is clear that there are references, winks and characters from it.
