Amazon sets its eyes on the Champions League for Italy – Sportsnomics

Various Italian media report that Amazon will take over the broadcast rights of the Champions League from 2021 to 2024.

The operation would close at 80 million euros per season and it would be the first time that Prime Video broadcast soccer via streaming in that country.

Amazon reportedly would have the main game on Wednesdays and broadcast 17 games per season; Sky Italia, DAZN and Mediaset will also bid for the rights.

In Germany, Prime Video signed a three-year contract to broadcast 16 games in the Group Stage and Playoffs.

In England it owns the Premier League broadcasts and in the United States those of the Seattle Sounders.
