The suspicious object that was found on Monday at the security warning in Antrim, was classified by the PSNI as "elaborate fraud".

After the security alert on Dublin Road on Monday, detectives conduct investigations.

A suspicious object was discovered at the entrance to the castle grounds opposite the Antrim PSNI station. The area was closed off, the roads closed and the residents had to leave their homes. They were allowed to return to their homes on Tuesday morning.

Inspector Neil Patton said:

"This warning has significantly disturbed Antrim residents and road users, and I would like to thank all concerned for their patience while working on their safety."
