Apple has recognized a problem that affects its Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch SE, due to which it has released a new update that includes the correction of these errors and new security measures.
The company has reported through a statement that the problem, which has affected “a small number of users”, has to do with the charging of the devices, since they did not charge once the battery saving mode was activated. This was the case with Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch SE models with watchOS 7.2 or 7.3 installed.
For this reason, Apple has released the watchOS 7.31 update, which in theory should fix the problem on these devices. Still, Apple encourages users to check that their Apple Watch is working, or it will provide a mail-in repair service. “Your watch will be examined before it is repaired to verify that it meets the requirements for free repairs,” they specify.
How do I know if my Apple Watch model is faulty?
As a first measure, Apple asks its users to update their device with the latest update aimed at fixing the problem. The company also provides a link where you can check what model you have and if it is affected, which can be done according to these instructions:
-Open the Apple Watch application on the iPhone.
-Press the My Watch tab, and then go to General> Information.
-Look for the Model field and look at the part number that begins with ‘M’.
-Press the Model field. At that time, it must be updated to show a five-digit number that begins with the letter A. This number or code must be compared with those that correspond to the different Apple Watch models, available at this link. There you will know what your model is.
Apple recommends to its customers that, to find out if their model is affected, they place themselves on the usual charger and wait 30 minutes. In case, with the new update and tested this time, it still doesn’t work you will have to go to Apple technical support.
