Apple is currently working on developing a 8 inch flexible screen iPhone mobile phone that would hit the market in 2023, as revealed by the analyst specializing in Apple Ming-Chi Kuo, which tends to advance this type of design with a high rate of effectiveness.
The first iPhone with a folding screen will have an 8-inch panel with QHD + resolution that can be folded thanks to the use of a flexible OLED material, as assured by the sources of Kuo and recoge MacRumors. The flexible panel will be manufactured by Samsung Display (SDC), the South Korean unit specialized in displays, and Samsung will also provide the display drivers.
8 inches is the size of the open screen they offer Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi in the latest models to hit the market.
Likewise, the terminal is expected to make use of the technology of silver nanowires under the screen, which will be carried out by TPK and which will allow touch control using not only one hinge but several. The device is expected to hit the market in 2023 and a total of 15-20 million units of the first foldable iPhone model will be produced.
A year ago the company was testing a prototype with two screens attached (in the style of the Microsoft Surface Duo) to analyze the convenience of such a device. Earlier this year, several leaks suggested that I was already testing with models that use a flexible screen, in the style of Samsung, Motorola, Huawei or Xiaomi, among other companies.
