The diplomat Patricia Salas was appointed the new Argentine ambassador to Turkey according to decree 11/2021 published on Tuesday, January 12 in the Official Gazette and signed by President Alberto Fernández, Chief of Staff Santiago Cafiero, and Foreign Minister Felipe Solá.
Until now, Patricia Salas worked as director of Economic Relations with Africa and the Middle East, after being an ambassador in Poland and Lithuania and in charge of Business in Honduras.
The new Ambassador, who will also attend Georgia, is a lawyer graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and a career diplomat. According reported the newspaper ProfileSalas was an official at the United Nations, New York, UNESCO, Paris, Lithuania and at the Argentine Embassy in Washington. In Poland, where he fulfilled his role from 2014 to 2018, he received the Cross of Merit, a decoration that was given to him for his outstanding contribution to the bilateral relationship between the European country and Argentina.
Until 2018Julián Luis Tettamanti was the Argentine ambassador to Turkey, remaining in charge until the new appointment of María del Pilar Irala as business manager.
