Armed Police Officers from Greater Manchester responded to the incident

One of three people stabbed Friday in Manchester comes from Northern Ireland.

The victim was locally named Chloe McGurk, 19, of Glengormley, County Antrim.

The attack took place at 11:15 pm NDT. A man entered the city's Arndale Center and began attacking buyers.

According to the police, three people were stabbed and two others injured when a man with a large knife began to "darken" on people.

None of the wounds would be lethal.

The three victims, including a man in his fifties, were transported to the hospital with stab wounds.

A 40-year-old man from the Manchester area was arrested for alleged assault, then arrested again on suspicion of commission, preparation and incitement to an act of terrorism.

The police later stated that he had been arrested under the Mental Health Act as a result of an "assessment by medical specialists".
