Arsenal are aiming for the transfer of Wilfred Ndidi to replace Lucas Torreira

Arsenal were forced to sign Wilfred Ndidi while Mikel Arteta tries to put his team back in four Premier League contenders.

A transfer is unlikely to occur until summer, with Ndidi’s Leicester club currently third in the standings and fighting for Champions League qualification.

However, Ndidi’s style would be perfect for the new Arsenal Arteta boss.

This is the opinion of the wise and former English striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, who says that Ndidi “surely” would like to join the Gunners.

Agbonlahor said the Gunners boss Arteta will have to sign a “better” midfield option than Lucas Torreira in the summer.

Wilfred Ndidi has the qualities that Arsenal needs in midfield, according to Gabriel Agbonlahor

“I still don’t think he’s the player who will take Arsenal to that next step,” said Agbonlahor of Torreira, speaking at the Astro Stadium.

“I think Arteta will also look at him and think” now he can do a job “, but maybe when summer comes he could look for someone with more legs, someone better.

“I think he is [good] for now but it’s because Arteta probably can’t go out and buy players in January, she may have to wait until summer.

“So for the players who are available on that team, I think Torreira is the best option he has at the moment.”

Lucas Torreira is Arsenal’s “best option”, but they need updating, according to Agbonlahor

When Arbonal’s prospect of signing Ndidi was entrusted to Agbonlahor, the former Aston Villa hot spot said: “Yes, I think the way he played for Leicester, he has legs in midfield, he can also play. the ball forward, can recapture the ball.

“But Leicester is doing better than Arsenal at the moment, so they won’t sell their players.”

Asked if Ndidi would like to join Arsenal in the summer, Agbonlahor said: “Definitely. I think that with the history of Arsenal, they are still a huge club. “

Torreira is currently sidelined with a muscle injury picked up during the Arsenal draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
