Tyler Roberts will return to Leeds United for the duel with Barnsley this weekend, while Luke Ayling will be available for the club's U23 selection next week.

Leeds was without the pair throughout the season, with Robert's last sting at the April draw against Aston Villa and Ayling after defeat in the semifinals against Derby County.

Marcelo Bielsa held his press conference today before the game – according to The Athletic's Phil Hay – Roberts is anxious to return to Barnsley this Sunday.

In addition, Ayling is making good progress and will play under 23 in time – just like Roberts did against Crystal Palace last week.

Roberts, who can play in two or three attacking positions, scored three goals for the whites and five assists in Bielsa's first season in the championship last season.

His best football was the No. 10, although all three of his hits – a double against Preston and a long shot attempt at Hull – arrived as a central striker.

Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah are currently fighting for # 9 in Leeds.

The judgment

This is a big boost for Leeds United before their trip to Barnsley and beyond.

Roberts is a versatile attack option that Bielsa can offer so much, while Ayling is his deputy captain and someone who helps a lot in the locker room.

Honestly, Roberts will not be in the Off-Week weekend and Ayling will not return to the team.

But it is a long season and they will play an important role.
