This Saturday, Barcelona faces Atlético de Madrid in a duel that could define many things in LaLiga. The winner of the match would emerge as a champion favorite, as long as Real Madrid score points against Sevilla, in the match to be played on Sunday. The weekend threatens to be definitive for all teams in the fight for one of the most exciting leagues in recent years, as the four teams that will face each other in direct duels –Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Real Madrid and Seville– have options to be champions. The blaugranas know it, and for this they have decided to use a dress uniform.
As they did in the visit to the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium in the most recent edition of ‘El Clásico’, Barcelona has confirmed through their social networks that they will use the team’s third kit for the duel against Atlético de Madrid. On their Twitter account, the Catalan team uploaded an image with Gerard Piqué, Frenkie de Jong, Pedro González ‘Pedri’, Sergi Roberto and Antoine Griezmann posing with the shirt with the Blaugrana colors and the four senyera bars.
This same shirt has only been used in one other Barcelona game this season, and sadly for the Blaugrana cause, it ended in a tough 2-1 defeat to their staunch rival, Real Madrid. Said defeat against the meringues would condemn Barcelona if they beat Atlético and that the Madrid do the same against Sevilla, because after winning the two Clásicos of the season (1-3 at Camp Nou and 2-1 at Valdebebas), the team led by Zinedine Zidane would be League champions if both teams finish tied at the top . Those led by Koeman need Sevilla to win or draw against their nemesis to continue aspiring to be champions.
