Antoine Griezmann would be open to move to Manchester United this summer if he were to leave Barcelona, according to reports.
The World Cup winner made waves with his huge £ 108 million move from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona in the summer, but things haven’t been going on since they arrived at Camp Nou.
Griezmann has only made eight goals in the La Liga so far, with his latest hit coming eight games ago, and now the Catalans seem destined to lose the championship title to Real Madrid’s bitter rivals after losing points in two consecutive games.
The Frenchman did not start from any of these games and a breach seems to have formed with manager Quique Setien. As a result, reports to Spain from the Mundo Deportivo suggest that he could leave Barcelona after only one season.
It is reported that if Barca were to try to switch to Griezmann, he would be willing to switch to the Premier League with United or nearby Manchester City. However, it is later claimed that Setien is more likely to have a quick exit from the club and Griezmann will have a chance to start over with whoever his replacement is.
While United are hoping to add to its offensive ranks this summer, MEN Sport does not understand that Griezmann is a current target for the club.
Griezmann is now 29, out of United’s ideal age group for shopping, and the club would prefer to recruit the best local talent in the summer transfer window.
This would include players such as Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, for example, although United reportedly has time until early September to complete a wing deal.
The 20-year-old is the main target of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but according to the German publication WAZ that Dortmund will maintain the English national team if an agreement was not completed before the start of the new season in September.
The summer transfer window will remain open until October 5th, but it is suggested that Dortmund will not entertain player sales once the Bundesliga returns a month earlier.
