BENIDORM. The Benidorm City Council together with the intercultural association Babelia has summoned the British population living in the city to an informative talk. It will be next Thursday, November 26, at 10:00 in the morning in the Assembly Hall of the Consistory. As explained by the Department of Foreign Residents, the reason is to communicate how to obtain a residence permit for citizens of the United Kingdom, once the transition period agreed with the European Union after Brexit ends.
Thus, the person in charge of the area, Ana Pellicer, mentioned that the call is part of “information and orientation activities” aimed at citizens of the United Kingdom residing in the town, within “the framework of the collaboration of Spain, as a member of the EU, with this country.” The informative talk aims to “give support to the British living in the city”. Pellicer recalled that “the British community is the largest among foreign residents of Benidorm” and that currently “there are 2,946 people, 4.14% of those registered”, according to the INE (National Institute of Statistics).
However, they pointed out that due to the application of the health regulations derived from the Covid-19 pandemic, the use of a mask and hydroalcoholic gel will be mandatory and the Assembly Hall will offer a limited capacity to respect the mandatory social security distance .
