Biss participated in the launch of the “Cities for Climate” network

The mayor of Rawson, Damián Biss, participated this Wednesday remotely in the launch of the national network of “Cities for climate”; Strategic space proposed to “promote urban cooperation and the exchange of best practices” to address environmental situations.

Mayors and environmental specialists shared via Zoom the experiences empowered in different regions of the country, aimed at preserving geographic resources and promoting common actions to be presented in different international forums.

The mayor of the capital exchanged opinions with the Head of Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, and other district officials on the measures adopted based on the modern requirements that environmental care requires, in the face of human practices and progress in industrialization processes.

In addition to Biss and Rodríguez Larreta, the following participated in the Zoom: Martín Llaryora, mayor of the City of Córdoba; Eduardo Tassano, city of Corrientes; Inés Brizuela y Doria, city of La Rioja; Sebastían Bragagnolo, mayor of Luján de Cuyo.

Also Ulpiano Suárez, mayor of the city of Mendoza; Gustavo Martinez, from Resistencia; Pablo Javkin, from Rosario; Emilio Jatón, city of Santa Fe; Germán Alfaro, from San Miguel de Tucumán; Raúl Jorge, from San Salvador de Jujuy; Bettina Romero, from the city of Salta; Daniel Goméz Gesteira, mayor of Villa Carlos Paz.

The virtual meeting was welcomed by the Secretary General and Secretary of International Relations of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Fernando Straface, and the Secretary of the Environment of CGBA, Eduardo Macchiavelli. The moderator was the Undersecretary for Urban Cooperation, Lucas Delfino.
