BOris Johnson will meet Jean-Claude Juncker for the first time on Monday, when DUP sources signaled that they had softened their Brexit position.
The Prime Minister said he was "cautiously optimistic" ahead of the working lunch in Luxembourg, where he would continue his offer to open talks with Brussels on the readmission agreement.
He will also meet Michel Barnier, the European Union's chief negotiator, and Xavier Battel, the Luxembourg Prime Minister.
In Yorkshire, Mr. Johnson said that the "rough shape" of an agreement was emerging and that his team had "worked incredibly hard to make a deal" and had made "big strides".
