British authorities want to send 1,000 ventilators to hospitals in India to help fight COVID-19, reports Radio Sputnik citing a Downing Street post.
It clarifies that the new ventilators will be allocated from surplus UK stockpiles in addition to the 200 ventilators, 495 oxygen concentrators and three oxygen generators previously shipped.
In addition, an advisory group is being organized by the National Health Service (NHS) across England to support India’s coronavirus response.
“The group will be working with Indian institutions such as the All India Institute of Health Services to share their experiences with COVID-19 outbreaks. The team will include public and global health researchers, as well as nurses and other health professionals with experience in the Indian health system, ”the report said.
