Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United is “imminent” despite the fact that the midfielder has been named to the Sporting team for the game tonight

Manchester United is reportedly expected to complete a deal for Bruno Fernandes in the coming days.

The Red Devils have tried to conclude the signing of Sporting and Portugal midfielder Fernandes for the whole month, but the saga has dragged on in the last week of the transfer window.

Cascarino says that Man United should opt for Bielsa instead of Pochettino

Last week it seemed that the deal had collapsed due to the financial differences between the two clubs, but the latest reports from Portugal suggest that the transfer has returned – and very close to completion.

O Jogo on Monday says that only the finer details need to be ironed out before the transfer is canceled, with the “imminent” move and Fernandes himself is already preparing to leave his homeland for England.

Sporting initially requested an advance payment of around £ 50 million, although it appears that they are now willing to compromise and will accept United’s offer, which is worth £ 46 million in advance and another £ 13 million in add-ons.

Fernandes continued to appear for Sporting during the transfer saga with each new round presumably his last game for the Portuguese team.

However, it looks like he’s finally ready for his true farewell appearance on Monday evening, with Sporting hosting Maritimo in the Primeira Liga.

He was named on their match day, with Sporting hoping to make it into the top three with a win against the 12th.

Sporting’s next game isn’t until Sunday, so if Fernandes plays that game in Braga, he has lost the chance to leave this transfer window and will have to watch the season with his current team, before securing a move elsewhere in the summer.
