BT Mobile has announced the plans and phones for its 5G network.

The company's 5G network is currently active in 20 cities, with another 25 expected to be available by the end of the year. BT did not provide us with an exact list of locations, but by and large, these are consistent with EE's existing 5G rollout sites, as BT's network runs on EEs (although BT actually owns EE).

These include London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, Belfast, Coventry, Leicester and Bristol, but we know that Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield and Nottingham should receive 5G coverage by the end of the year.

BT will stock most of EE's available mobile phones with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, the Oppo Reno 5G, and the Huawei Mate 20X.

BT Plus customers can choose from four new 5G packages, each with duplicate data. BT Plus customers can choose from a 5G 12GB, 30GB, 60GB or 200GB handset tariff from £ 45 per month. 200 GB customers will receive an unlimited tariff when BT Halo – a combined 5G mobile and home broadband service contract – is launched next month.

All plans include free access to the BT Sport app.
