The Danish brewer Carlsberg has announced plans to develop a beer bottle made from sustainably produced wood fibers.

The Copenhagen-based company presented two prototypes that are "fully recyclable and have an internal barrier so the bottles can contain beer."

The prototypes are part of the company's efforts to be CO2-free in its breweries and to reduce the carbon footprint in its value chain by 30% by 2030.
