CDMX, Aguascalientes and Zacatecas, among the cities where Uber will connect directly with 911

The transportation service platform, Uber, has implemented a new resource with which you can provide more security to users and drivers in Mexico. It is a direct connection to emergency services that facilitate the response of calls to 911 during trips.

This new service will be available in eight states of the Republic: Aguascalientes, CDMX, Zacatecas, Nuevo León, Jalisco, Sinaloa, State of Mexico and Baja California Sur. The objective is facilitate the answer by specialized authorities by providing them with the corresponding information.

How does it work?

Every one user or driver Use the button to call 911 from the app, the state emergency services will automatically receive all the information provided by the application about the trip being made:

  • Location in real time

  • Name of partner and user
  • Numbers telephone

The technology behind this service comes from RapidSOS, a company dedicated and specialized in linking relevant data to help improve security responses. In order to get a more precise location, it makes use of the location signs of mobile devices such as GPS, satellite and wifi points.
