Chelsea kept their rank of favorites by winning 2-0 against Porto in a Champions League quarter-final first leg relocated to Seville due to health restrictions in Portugal. Despite a greater number of chances, the Portuguese did not know how to shake the Londoners.
The young attacking midfielder Mason Mount scored the 1st goal, counted as away, before Ben Chilwell made the break at the end of the game. These achievements place the Blues in a very good position to regain the last four of the C1, which would constitute a 1st since 2014. The Portuguese will have to achieve a feat in the second leg to hope to glimpse the semi-finals for the first time since 2004.
In a week’s time, the second leg will still be played at Sevilla FC’s Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium, for the same reasons: the health restrictions linked to Covid-19, between Portugal and the United Kingdom.
