Chelsea are unlikely to exercise the £ 40 million buyback option for Nathan Ake and will not bid on Bournemouth’s teammate Callum Wilson.

The Blues have explored former defender Ake and have seen Cherries Wilson’s striker, but are now focusing their attention on other targets during the January transfer window.

Chelsea have been closely linked to Ake, who played at Stamford Bridge from 2011 to 2017, with the Blues having a £ 40 million buy-back option on the Dutch central defender.

The West London club included the repurchase clause in the central defender’s £ 20 million deal in Bournemouth in 2017 and was expected to want to get Ake back after their FIFA transfer ban had been lifted.

Callum Wilson has failed to score a league goal for Eddie Howe's team since September

Ake went through the same Chelsea youth academy that developed players who now thrive under Frank Lampard including forward Tammy Abraham, central defender Fikayo Tomori and midfielder Mason Mount.

Wilson has been on Chelsea radar for the past 12 months, but is unlikely to move for a player who hasn’t scored a league goal since September 28th.
