Chelsea are confident that striker Tammy Abraham will face Aston Villa on Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

The striker missed the 1-0 defeat to West Ham on Saturday after suffering a hip injury midway through the week in a 2-2 draw with Valencia.

Olivier Giroud started at Abraham's place against the Hammers, but the Blues suffered a shock defeat at home to Frank Lampard's former team.

Abraham has already scored 11 goals this season and the Telegraph claims he is well on his way to ending the duel with Villa on Wednesday.

The striker is training on Monday and has the opportunity to prove his fitness 24 hours before the match.

After a fantastic series of results, it is now two defeats in a row for Lampard's men in the Premier League.

They remain in the top four, but Jose Mourinho's Tottenham is only six points behind the blues.

Chelsea travels to Tottenham on December 22, when Mourinho takes over his former club for the first time since moving to North London.
