Chilean “criminal tourists” are jailed for a raid on Marcus Wareing’s London home

Four Chilean “criminal tourists”, who broke into the home of celebrity chef Marcus Wareing, escaping with £ 33,000 in watches, jewelry and other valuables, were jailed.

Danko Carvajal-Donaire, 20 years old, Claudio Donoso, 20 years old, Nicolas Portilla Astorga, 27 years old, and Jorge Rojas, 22 years old, raided the £ 7 million Mr Wareing property in Wimbledon last October, after the house it had been specially marked with orange dots sprayed on the fence.

The raiders had been transported to Britain by an organized crime gang, which had coordinated a series of burglaries on London’s high-end properties and home counties.

After making their way into Mr Wareing’s six-bedroom home, the band ripped off a gold Rolex watch, two Omega watches and other sentimental jewelry and items.

Kingston Crown Court was told that the value of the stolen items was £ 33,711 and included a medallion belonging to Mr. Wareing’s wife which contained an image of his father.
