Murder victim Pat Ward

Detectives investigating the murder of Pat Ward in County Tyrone are given additional time to question two suspects.

A 23-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder.

The police opened a homicide investigation after Mr. Ward's body was found in an alley at McCrea Park in Clogher on Saturday at 08:15 GMT.

Officers said the 30-year-old victim was from the Clogher area.

Det Ch Insp. Peter McKenna said an autopsy would not take place yet, but he treated death as a murder.

Detectives want anyone who has noticed unusual activity at McCrea Park late on Friday night or early Saturday morning to contact them.

Michelle Gildernew, MEP of Sinn Féin, described the murder as "brutal".
