COLEEN Rooney is so desperate that her fifth baby is a girl, that she has dealt with the controversial "sex selection" treatment.
The 33-year-old, who has four sons and husband Wayne, flew to Mexico earlier this year to discuss the £ 8,000 non-UK bid.
She told friends that she wanted to know more about the process by which doctors examine embryos in a laboratory before implanting only those of the desired sex back into the womb.
A source said, "Coleen loves her boys more than anything else, but she was never shy to admit that she would love a daughter as well.
"That would really complete the set for her and Wayne.
"But she also said that if she has another boy, she would be happy."

The news came after The Sun revealed that Wayne, 33, returned from the United States to Great Britain as a player-coach at Derby.
This week we also shared how Wayne sought treatment to help him finally stop drinking.
The ex-Englishman and Manchester United star joined Washington DC United last year, but his private life threatened to get out of hand.
What is gender selection?
By Carol Cooper, Sun Doctor
SEX selection is illegal in the UK unless it is for the prevention of a serious genetic disease.
The eggs are collected by the woman and then fertilized in a bowl in the clinic with the sperm of the father.
As a rule, only one or two are implanted. Any excess embryos can be frozen for future use.
