Moderna’s vaccine generates antibodies for 6 months
A new study showed that the antibodies developed by Moderna’s vaccine last up to six months, after the application of the two doses, and have the ability to prevent Covid-19 by 94%. These findings coincide with previous investigations in which it was assured that the biological, created by the American pharmaceutical company, produced a quantity of antigens similar to that developed by patients recovered from a natural infection.
The research, led by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Maryland, United States (EU), is a phase three trial, in which the amount of IgG and IgM antibodies developed by the vaccine were analyzed of the Moderna biotechnology consortium, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 33 healthy participants, who had not been infected with SARS-CoV-2, because to date, the durability of their protection was unknown.
