The Welsh government is considering whether the rules on face masks should be changed in Wales.
This comes in light of an announcement in England stating that they will be mandatory on public transport starting June 15.
The British Medical Association in Wales has asked to wear face masks in public areas where people cannot socially distance themselves, while the group representing railway operators wants to wear them on public transport.
Prime Minister Mark Drakeford said: “There are a whole host of detailed questions that we need to explore with our colleagues in England.”
He said there will be a “final declaration” made next week.
