Corrie fans ruined the excitement after Antony Cotton posted photos from the set

Coronation Street fans are still getting their share of insanity from the street – just a little less.

ITV soap had to stop shooting in March due to the coronavirus epidemic and subsequent blockade.

In an effort to keep the popular show on air for as long as possible, the bosses have halved the broadcast but are starting to finish episodes on the air.

And fans don’t really want that to happen. So it’s no surprise that some went wild when Corrie star Antony Cotton posted a backstage snap on her Instagram page.

“OMG IS IT BACK UP?!” shouted a follower.

Another said, “Please let this mean what I think it does.”

Unfortunately, Antony, who plays the pebble Sean Tully, has placed some disclaimers on the spot for his followers – but not exactly what they wanted to hear.

“Keep your horses! We haven’t started shooting yet,” the post subtitled before explaining: “I went to get some things from my dressing room. Some old nylon pants and a pair of lippies …”

Reports late last week suggested that Coronation Street and its channel partner Emmerdale would return to shoot again in June.

And on Monday (May 18), a number of major British broadcasters joined forces to introduce general guidelines that aim to help the television industry overcome the coronavirus pandemic.

An ITV soap spokesman said Coronation Street and Emmerdale are in the “final stages” of work on plans to return to production, an ITV soap spokesman said last week.
