The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, reported that 5,134 new cases of COVID-19 are reported, “of which 14% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 14% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 12% due to BAC and 12% of the reported cases are asymptomatic ”.
Minister Paris reported that the variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is 20% for the last 14 days. He added that “eleven regions decrease their cases in the last seven days and six in the last 14 days.”
Meanwhile, the Los Ríos region registers the highest incidence rate in the country per 100,000 inhabitants. While the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are: Atacama, Aysén, Tarapacá and Metropolitana.
The health authority insisted on making a call to citizens to continue taking care of themselves in these complex weeks. “We do not get tired of recognizing the enormous work that health personnel develop every day and the best way we have as citizens to thank this effort is by taking care of ourselves,” said Paris.
According to today’s report, of the 5,134 new cases of COVID-19, 4,194 correspond to symptomatic people and 711 do not have symptoms. In addition, 229 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 1,043,022. Of this total, 38,496 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 980,245.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 62 deaths due to causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths is 23,796 in the country.
To date, 3,029 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 2,620 are on mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 180 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and the diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 30,671 PCR tests were reported, reaching a total of 11,603,698 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 15.42% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 15%.
