The governor of Morelos, Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo, announced that this Wednesday started the vaccination process against COVID-19 in the entity. In a publication shared on social networks it was detailed that, initially, 282 first-line medical personnel have been vaccinated.

The former soccer player called this event a historic event, a turning point in the fight in the long and grueling pandemic of Covid-19. “This day marks a historical date; a before and after in the midst of this contingency. We formally start the vaccination of health personnel in Morelos against COVID-19. They have given their best to take care of the population ”.

Subsequently, he stressed that the days with the highest levels of infections of contagions in the state had occurred in the month of December of last year, so made a call not to trust, or lower your guard, since the arrival of the vaccine does not mean that the state of health emergency is a matter of the past.

He asked the population to be patient and not stop carrying out measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. I affirm that the entire population will receive the vaccination, starting with those social sectors whose risk of suffering severe symptoms is greater.

“Later vaccines will reach all citizens, starting with the most vulnerable groups. I ask the population for patience and not to lower their guard; This is a great advance, but it does not represent the end of the contingency, let’s continue to take care of each other”, He explained.

Finally, thanked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for the arrival of the first vaccines. This was his statement: “We thank the president @lopezobrador_ for his closeness with the people of Morelos and for considering our state among the first to receive these vaccines.”

A few hours later he shared a message expressing relief because workers on the front lines of combat against SARS-COV 2, who have been in the dangerous work for almost a year, will receive the vaccine that will allow them to continue working with less risk to their health.

“For almost a year, health personnel have been working on the front lines of the battle against a virus whose magnitude has taken the world by surprise. Today in Morelos they are the first to receive the COVID vaccine. It is a great step, but it is not the last. Let’s not lower our guard!”He declared.

Marco Antonio Cantú Cuevas, Secretary of State Health, reported that 9,765 doses of vaccines were received, which are sufficient to inoculate all employees and physicians of the public health sector of the state.

These events take place one day after the arrival of the largest batch of Covid-19 vaccines yet. This shipment is made up of doses manufactured by Pfizer and BioNTech. After their arrival, they were distributed to various locations throughout the republic to begin the mass vaccination stage in the country. This is the fifth batch of inoculations to arrive in Mexico.

On Monday, January 18, the arrival of a new shipment with 436,800 vaccines is anticipateds with which the second dose will be given for those doctors who have been vaccinated at the end of December of last year. This, because the vaccine manufactured by Pfizer requires a second dose applied 21 days after the initial one.
