It is clear that Lucasfilm has found in Disney+ a niche to dig and delve into the saga Star Wars. Backed by the success of The Mandalorian, the company has launched series such as Cassian Andor – which could have several seasons – or the one dedicated to Obi-Wan Kenobi, looking to continue exploring this distant galaxy. The possibilities offered by the House of Mouse service seem to accommodate all sorts of ideas, and the director Ronald D. Moore has appreciated this new panorama. “I felt great emotion writing script lines for Darth Vader …”, explains, alluding to the canceled project in which he was going to work with George Lucas.
Ronald D. Moore wants a Darth Vader series for Disney +
He has been in charge of adapting the literary saga Outlander to television with great success. Has worked in Star Trek: The Next Generation and in the acclaimed revival of Battlestar Galactica. Science fiction is certainly not uncharted territory for Ronald D. Moore, and it is practically a natural move that he sets his gaze on the distant Star Wars galaxy. In fact, Moore was immersed years ago in a Star Wars television project, where was he going to collaborate with the same George Lucas.
Now that you are under a blanket agreement at 20th Century TV, owned by Disney, we could almost say that Moore is back around this project. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Moore confirmed that he would love to immerse himself in Star Wars, but sadly now might not be the ideal time. In fact, he maintains that in his day wrote a good chunk of lines of dialogue for nothing more and nothing less than for Darth Vader. These have been his words:
“I would love to do something in that saga”
“It’s always something that I have in mind, but clearly, they have their Star Wars plate full right now. I’m not sure this is the time you go in and launch a new Star Wars series there. I would love to do something in that series, “he begins by explaining.” It was fun working on the aborted live action show I did a long time ago. I felt a tremendous amount of excitement writing lines for Darth Vader in one episode and it would be fun to do it again.. It is not the first piece of development that I am doing there, but I hope I can do it sometime“.
