CORONATION Street star Dolly-Rose Campbell has shown that she is bi-sexual – and is now an ambassador for Manchester's gay pride event.

The actress who plays Gemma Winter owed the people of Manchester that she had helped build the courage to come out.

She said she was a longtime supporter of Manchester Pride – and will speak an upcoming ad for the August Bank holiday parade.

The TV's favorite now wants to use her experience to help others deal with their sexuality.

Dolly-Rose, 31, told the Daily Star: "I've been proud for more than a decade to be proud.

"The love and acceptance of the people in Manchester allowed me to accept my bisexuality and to be proud of who I am."

She talked about her desire to help others, adding that she looks forward to working with the annual Manchester Pride celebration.

Dolly-Rose said: "The work that Manchester Pride is doing throughout the year to engage with people in the LGBTQ + community of Manchester and beyond and create new opportunities makes a huge difference in so many people. "
