Downing Street said the new coronavirus regulations will set a 30-person limit for meetings at home and in outdoor spaces that are not considered Covid-safe.
Health protection regulations were signed by Health Secretary Matt Hancock this morning and will be presented to Parliament and published later today, n. 10.
They also prevent pubs and bars from rushing to serve pints immediately after midnight, with reopening prohibited until 6 on Saturday.
The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “What they do is implement the 30-person limit for meetings in private homes and outdoor spaces where not in a safe Covid environment 19.
“The regulations also maintain a list of venues that must remain closed and which include night clubs, nail bars and salons, indoor play areas, gyms, conference centers and exhibition halls.
“These regulations come into force mainly at 12.01 on Saturday 4th July.
“The reopening of pubs and bars takes effect specifically at 6am. It would only be in case someone tries to try to open at midnight. “
The two-family limit for meetings must also remain in effect, the spokesman said.
