According to the Suffolk County Sheriff, a late-night traffic stop led to the arrest of a Long Island woman who would be in possession of cocaine and cannabis concentrate.
The sheriff's deputies arrested Miguelina Rodriguez, a resident of Islip's center, on Saturday, November 2, at approximately 2:22 am, when she was spotted.
Deputies said Rodriguez "had demonstrated clues when performing standardized field sobriety tests", which indicated that she was under the influence. Further investigation revealed that she was in possession of cocaine and concentrated cannabis.
Rodriguez was arrested and transported to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Police Office in Yaphank, where a breathalyzer discovered that she had a blood alcohol level of 0.11% and she was arrested.
Rodriguez was charged with driving while intoxicated and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. She has since been released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
