Argentine coach Diego Giustozzi, World champion in 2016, lost today the final of the European Futsal Champions League under the command of El Pozo Murcia, from Spain, against Barcelona 2-1.
The coach who won the World Cup with Argentina in Colombia 2016 led the Murcia team to a European final after twelve years, but could not with the powerful Catalan team that won their third title.
The match was played at the Barcelona sports center, better known as Palau Blaugrana, and the goals of the winning team were converted by Dyego and Aicardo, at 3 and 8 minutes into the first half, respectively.
Murcia discounted at the beginning of the second half (5 minutes) through Leo Santana but despite the effort he could not reach a draw.
“The truth is, the pain is great because it is difficult to find a reason why we lost a game like this. They have kicked twice at goal and passed the midfield 4 or 5 times. It hurts not to find an explanation for the defeat. Rarely did I see a team so superior to the other, and that the result is what it has been, “lamented Giustozzi in statements highlighted by the official UEFA website:
“In this sport, the one who scores the most goals wins, and the most accurate has the most chances of winning. They were 100 percent correct. I’m proud, I have no words to thank these players. I found a team of mine, this is the team that I want. This is the way, “concluded the former River Plate, who has led Murcia since mid-2018.
