2018 was quite a journey for Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who has been unpredictable for much of the past 12 months.

Whether it was referring to a cave diver as Pedo, claiming to have invented subways or "selling fornite" – he has done all sorts of things and not many people are fans of his behavior.

His most famous moment, perhaps, was when he smoked weed on the Joe Rogan podcast, an incident that cost him a lot of money and led NASA to investigate SpaceX's safety and health standards.

Still in an interview with Lesley Steel for 60 minutes, The South African philanthropist defiantly declared that he does not smoke marijuana and has no idea how to smoke it or whatever.

The 47-year-old said:

I am a bit impulsive. I do not really want to try to stick to a CEO template.

I do not smoke a pot. Anyone who has seen this podcast knows that I have no idea how to smoke something.

It is quite possible that Musk is telling the truth here, because during the interview with Rogan, Musk did not seem to breathe in smoke or know what to do with a joint.

This does not really excuse Musk, because he should not have come close to the substance, and it's probably a moment that will follow in the next few years.

In addition, Steel Musk also pressed on his unusual actions on Twitter, which have apparently cost his investors a lot of money.

Musk rejected the criticism and claimed that the tweet was stressed:

I use tweets to express myself. Some people use their hair, I use Twitter.

I am only me.

I mean, I was under some crazy stress and crazy, crazy hours … But the system would have failed if I had been unpredictable.
