On the occasion of the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution, this long weekend, many vacationers took the opportunity to go on vacation despite the COVID-19 pandemic, so the beaches of Acapulco, Guerrero, and Sinaloa remain at an average of 50% of its hotel capacity.

Acapulco is the municipality with the highest number of reported cases, which is at an orange traffic light high risk due to the rebound in Covid-19 infections.

For its part, the State Secretariat of Tourism has reported through a statement that they have been in constant training for the sector and apply preventive health measures.

Likewise, in the streets you can see lines of vehicles to enter the hotels, while on the beaches hundreds of tourists arrive with drinks and food.

Last Monday the new restrictions published in the Official State Newspaper came into effect, where the rReduction of mobility from 12 at night to six in the morning, as well as the reinforcement of surveillance in Beaches, markets and shopping malls and hotels may not exceed 50 percent of capacity.

The Covid-19 pandemic will cause this long weekend of the Mexican Revolution to register a decrease in economic income, influx of visitors and hotel occupancy, said the municipal tourism secretary José Luis Basilio Talavera.

The official said that according to the estimate of the hoteliers themselves, this weekend, Acapulco, will register a percentage of 50 percent.

While in economic spill, 159 million pesos are expected for the port from November 13 to 16, a figure that is lower compared to the 209 million that were achieved the long weekend of 2019.

The Secretary of Tourism in Acapulco, expressed that the reduction in economic spill, influx of visitors and tourist occupation on this long bridge, is acceptable because the hotels are operating at a capacity of 50 percent due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
