Families affected by storm Laura in Los Ríos await relocation

Santo Domingo, RD.- Affected by the storm Laura in the sector Yuca of The rivers, in the National District, are waiting for President Luis Abinader to fulfill his promise to relocate them.

This coming October 24, it will be two months since President Luis Abinader visited more than 10 families who were left in the open, after the passage of storm Laura, which destroyed several homes in that sector.

The families who were evicted after the event in a church in the sector and others in the homes of relatives say that they feel abandoned by the authorities despite the fact that they granted them the payment of two deposits from one to rent a house.

Belkis Ubrí, who lost part of his residence, says he fears that another flood in the ravine will cause his home to collapse.

The housewives who were affected by the atmospheric phenomenon ask the president to resolve their situation or else they will take to the streets in protests.
