FC Barcelona – La Liga Criticised by Koeman in October
Juan Martinez Munuera will be in charge of a game that will take place at the Camp Nou four months after his controversial officiating in the Clasico against Real Madrid back in October.
The 38-year-old will be the referee of Barcelona‘s match against Cadiz on Sunday at 14:00 CET.
After his last visit at the Camp Nou, Ronald Koeman complained to Munuera over a penalty that was converted by Sergio Ramos in Real Madrid‘s 3-1 victory in Catalonia.
“Is it a penalty for you?” Koeman asked in the press conference after El Clasico. “For me it isn’t and I told the referee.
“I’ve told him that hopefully one day they can explain to me how VAR works in Spain. We have played five games and the VAR goes only against Barcelona and never in favour.
“I have asked him why there is VAR only against Barcelona.”
Koeman was charged, but ultimately not punished, by the Spanish Football Federation’s disciplinary committee for his comments after El Clasico.
