A Romanian man has been arrested and charged with assistance.
A criminal investigation has opened the discovery of the group – which included 15 children as young as 12 – hidden behind crates of sparkling water, reports the BBC. Newhaven Port from the French port of Dieppe.
The children were cold and unharmed and are now being looked after by social services. An 18-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman have been sent back to Vietnam, while the remaining four adults are being held at a detention center, Metro says.
The driver, Andrut Duma, 29, wants to stay in custody until it is released.
