Financial assistance from Quimper Bretagne Occidentale to acquire an electric bicycle – Quimper

“We want to send a strong political signal and put the territory in the saddle”, repeats Marie-Pierre Jean-Jacques, vice-president of Quimper Bretagne Occidentale (QBO), in charge of mobility and transport claiming a “promotion of cycling on a daily basis” .

The more people there are on a bicycle, the more peaceful the city will be: less noise pollution and less air pollution

Assistance for the purchase of an electric bicycle according to income

Promotion which first takes the form of financial assistance from the Agglomeration for the purchase of an electric bicycle. It complements state aid. These aids are granted on the basis of the annual income of the purchaser. When it is less than € 13,489, the State subsidy is € 200 to which is added a subsidy of 50% of the price of the bike up to the limit of € 500 paid by QBO.

Better to say that the State which stops there, the community decided to grant a subsidy of 40% within the limit of 400 € also for an annual income between 13,490 € and 20,000 €. And also a 20% aid up to the limit of € 200 for income between € 20,001 and € 26,351.

Note that to benefit from these aids, you must be of legal age, domiciled in QBO territory, agree not to give up the bike in the following year and buy a new electric-assisted bike. It will be possible to make two grant requests per fiscal household.

Repair costs: QBO takes over

QBO will also allocate aid to repair costs for the bikes of its citizens up to a maximum of € 50. The operation, which will begin on April 15, requires the advance of costs. The aid will be paid on presentation of the invoice, after submitting a request via a form available on the website of Quimper + (paper document available in all QBO town halls). This device takes over from that put in place by the State from the first confinement and stopped on March 31.

Three hundred electric bikes for rent

At the same time, the Qub urban transport network is doubling its fleet of electric bikes for long-term rental (three, six or nine months) from 150 to 300. Two electric-assisted cargo bikes will also be available shortly at location. “We want to encourage the use of the bicycle. Renting is a good formula for everyone to test their possibilities, for up to 18 consecutive months, ”explains Alain Farges, director of the Qub network. Two hundred of these bikes assembled in Vendée are currently available and can be picked up in all the towns of the city. The rental request for electric bikes and classic bikes (25) or scooters (10) can be done in a few clicks on, where the price list also appears (also decreasing depending on whether or not one is a Qub subscriber).

We are well aware that one of the concerns of users is not to find their bike or not to find it whole.

Secure bicycle shelters

Last lever operated this spring, QBO plans to install secure bicycle shelters throughout the territory, allowing electric recharging. “We are considering setting up these boxes that would encourage intermodality,” explains Marie-Pierre Jean-Jacques, illustrating her point with a home-work journey combining cycling and public transport. “We are also carrying out a survey of users to define the most common locations possible”. Five shelters that can accommodate two bicycles will be quickly installed as a first test.
