PORTLAND, Ore – The winter storm advisory remains in effect throughout Saturday for most of western Oregon and southwestern Washington.
Many residents woke up with ice and snow in their surroundings.
The winter storm advisory includes the Gorge area, which had previously been under a snow storm advisory, the Portland area, and the greater Vancouver area.
There is also the possibility of high winds in certain areas and downed trees and blackouts.
Additionally, an ice storm advisory remains in effect through noon Saturday for Marion County. This means that areas like Salem, McMinnville and Woodburn are seeing freezing rain and winter precipitation.
People should stock up on extra candles and batteries and have a way to contact the power company, if necessary.
